Apologies it’s been a few weeks
Been pushing on and been quite busy
New kitchen arrived, and the cats quickly took up residence. Currently stacked in the corner of the living room
Sam came up for a visit last weekend and he helped me get a new (bigger) loft hatch installed, so just need to get the boards laid and can then empty one of the bedrooms by getting the boxes up into the loft.
Utility room is very nearly done
Toilet, hand basin, shower, cupboard, bargain granite top and appliances all installed
Cupboards transplanted from the kitchen today too
Picking the doors up tomorrow for the cupboard, and just need to add doors to the toilet and main door into the utility. We had bought some from a company online and if they had been ok, we would have bought them for the rest of the house, but turned out to be really poor quality so they’ll be going back
You may remember me mentioning mouse nests a few weeks ago, well I had to move our box that we use to store the garden cushions in to free up the space to allow the window installers to get the French doors installed and found two more abandoned nests under it
French doors installed now too
Dogs are absolutely loving life here, but Harley does like to help with the decorating 😂
Jodie has come home for a week (we think to see the cats and dogs)…..not us!
Plans this week are to disconnect and drain the old plumbing and the old fire, back boiler and hot water cylinder so I can knock the wall through in the kitchen and start getting tiles off the floor and walls. Then electrics, plumbing etc before plastering (I won’t be doing that 😂)
We’re all going down to Poole next weekend as it’s Sam’s birthday and we’ll drop Jodie back to Bristol on the way home. Next doors girls have jumped at the opportunity to feed the cats while we are away
Finally for now, had our Nissan Xtrail in for an MOT and needless to say it failed, but I was pretty shocked at the state of the rear suspension arms which I could see clear daylight through. To be honest, not sure how it was OK last year
Also…. What could possibly go wrong??? 😂
