Bit of a manic week
Friday 18th
We have a major row with our solicitors because nothing is happening, we are already 2 weeks past our intended move date and they are still faffing about with forms that haven’t been filled in correctly
Solicitor gets the hump and slams the phone down on me saying “He will consider their position over the weekend and decide whether they are going to continue to act for us”
Awesome, their cockup and we have to suffer!!
So we have a weekend of not knowing what is happening and get very little done
Get an email Monday morning stating they will continue to act for us, but we have to email them and not phone (And I have to stop calling them “useless”)
Week plods on and after much chasing ( by email only!!) we finally exchange contacts at 4pm on Thursday. Fortunately we had got to the point of being able to move so not so bad
I nip off to U Drive and collect the hire truck
Friday is move day, discover that our doubts of it all going to fit in the 7.5 tonne truck are true and have to do two runs to Sam’s house with trailer loads from the shed. Thankfully he has a garage so all good
Get a phone call from the solicitor at 2pm to say all completed and get on the road at 2:30pm to Lincolnshire
What should have been a 3.5 to 4hr drive turned into a 6 hr marathon with all the bank holiday weekend traffic. Finally back in the drive in Twenty at 8:30pm
Manages to unload the fridge and some mattress’s and that was it for the night (After a Chinese of course!)
Saturday morning – Unload the rest of the truck and back on the road to return it to the hire company in Poole and then turn around and drive back up with the Jeep
Finally back indoors at Twenty at 11:15pm
Oh my God, I’m knackered!!!
